NOVEMBER 2015 - ARTIC POLAR


3 DAYS ABISKO ( NORRBOTTEN)

Just 2hours around by plane and 14h by train from Stockholm, Kiruna is the start point departure for the georgous nature of Artic polar mountain in Autumn.

Adventure, exciting, wet and out of the ordinary.

Esrange space center is situated just over 40 km north-east of Kiruna. There's a small visitor's center which presents activities at Esrange & Swedish space corp. - related work.
After waiiting 50 mn the bus from Kiruna city center(where some provisions were bought)to the train station for Abisko.Time is come to start the great adventure by train.
Fabulous scene all the 1h08 duration of the train, i tought i was in a National geographic magazine.

Return to Kiruna done by taxi 395Kr each due to no train that day so check your train schedules or you will need to do the road by car.

This tree is a clear indicator  from Mother nature that you are in the far north and on high altitude."Saxophone birches" ( the small, windswept birches on the slopes of the mountain stand hunched ) their shape is very reminiscent of saxophones. 

Waiting for the northern light front the chalet. It's 00.40 now. Many stars brigth over the heaven and suddenly behind the lake at 00.45... ABISKO is oneof the best place in the world to see magic of the Aurora Borealis
Sky start dancing without joik music. So magic & incredible as if it's come to say us God bless you or Welcome. I have experienced the strongest. My fisrt and so beautiful Northern light during few minutes but the time were has transcendent. A breathtaking show offers by the earth or the sky. The second night nothing due to rain and the last evening again 

one different Northern light like a dancing halo for a good end trip .... 

just IMMEMORIAL, i feel so lucky at that minutes, no mosquitoes but cold outside.

The secret of the Kungsleden Road, you have different views in a journey of the same spot, so magic.

Reindeer horn find in the forest, ya no bears and no wolves. The aerliest Sami settlement is around 4000 years old. Life was based on a hunting economy & reindeer are a significant form of income for the Sami people.

The land of the Sami. One of the world's indigenous people, & for millennia they've lived close to nature.
Their lifestyle has developed over the years, their traditions and culture are still very much alive.
